What is Skill Tree
Skill Tree is a map of your lacrosse journey.
No one is amazing at everything on their first try. No one remembers every little thing their coach says. And trying to skip the basics and jump straight to the fancy stuff usually just slows you down.
Skill Tree helps with all of that.
On your player profile you will see your own three dimensional Skill Tree. It shows your path from beginner to expert. As you train, your tree fills in and grows. You can see what you already do well, what you are learning right now, and what is coming next.
Instead of guessing what to practice, the tree shows you your next best step. Every session, practice, and game leaves a mark on your tree, so you never lose track of what you worked on or what you should do at home.
The big picture is the full tree. The close up picture is a single skill. That detail view shows you what the skill means, what proficient looks like, and common mistakes to avoid. Together, they give you a clear, intentional map to improve more efficiently.

What each node means
Each dot or bubble on the tree is called a node.
A node is one thing you can learn. It might be a skill, a decision, or a way of thinking in a game that helps you play better.
When you click on a node, a card opens up. That card explains the skill in simple words, illustrates what you should be able to do, and gives you tips on how to master that skill. As you improve, that node changes to show your progress.
We have specific trees for goalies, faceoff players, defenders, attack players, and midfielders. Those are all important. But the most important tree for everyone is the Fundamentals tree.
Your player is better off learning specific skills early on, but not everyone starts at a young age. Additionally, if no one clearly explains these skills, a player might only hear them once and then forget. Those tiny gaps can be what sets your player back.
Skill Tree fixes that by putting all the important building blocks in one place where you and your coaches can always see them. Nothing important is left to chance or memory.

Why order matters
Everyone learns at their own pace, so no two trees look exactly the same. Skill Tree respects your unique journey.
Some skills require specific steps you must follow in order to become proficient in them. When you are taught things in an intentional order, they will come easier to you and you will improve much faster.
Imagine trying to paint a super realistic portrait on your very first day. You might figure it out one day, but it would be slow and frustrating. If you first learn to draw simple people, then learn the proportions of the face and body, then learn how to mix paint, then learn realism tricks, that final portrait feels way easier.
You did not waste time on the basics. The basics made the hard skills possible.
Skill Tree works the same way for lacrosse. When your fundamentals have no gaps, your footwork, stick skills, decisions, and confidence all rise together. Your tree is built from the ground up, with fundamentals at the bottom and advanced skills on top.
Our coaching staff has been on the field with athletes almost every day for the last three years. We watch what really matters in games, where players get stuck, and which small ideas create big jumps. That is how we built and still refine the Skill Tree that you see here.

How Skill Tree helps you
Skill Tree is not just a cool picture. It is a coaching system that gives you personal feedback.
As you train, your tree updates. Nodes light up and change as you pass skills. You and your coach can always see what you just improved and what you are ready for next, so your time on the field is never wasted.
Because your tree is your own, your training plan is personal to you. Your coach uses your tree to design sessions that fit exactly where you are in your journey. That means you get better faster, without feeling lost or bored.
You can also compare your tree to other players in a healthy way. Not to brag or feel bad, but to see different strengths and understand how other athletes are built.
In the future we will connect Skill Tree to your at home work too. The same map you see at practice will guide what you do on your own, so you always know the best thing to work on next.
When your fundamentals are clear and visible, you feel more confident, your decision making on the field gets quicker, and lacrosse as a while becomes a lot more fun.
That is the real point of Skill Tree: help you improve faster and enjoy the game more.
